PRIVATE CLIENT SERVICES

WILLS
It is important that Clients have an up to date Will reflecting their wishes. On drafting your Will we can also advise on the best ways to minimise inheritance tax and nursing home fees, often through using a Trust.
LASTING POWERS OF ATTORNEY (LPAs)
Since October 2007 it has been possible to sign an LPA document for your Property and Affairs and/or for your Personal Welfare. An LPA document appoints an Attorney or Attorneys to manage your affairs and make decisions on your behalf if you ever become physically or mentally incapacitated. It is especially important for Clients who are post-retirement age to consider setting up an LPA.
PROBATE / ESTATES
A Grant of Probate is a Court Order giving up to 4 people legal authority to administer a deceased person’s estate. In most cases following a death, a Grant of Probate is required. We offer an extremely cost effective, quick and efficient probate/estate administration service, relieving you of the burden of the legal, tax and administrative matters.
TRUSTS and TAX
Trusts can be set up in Wills, as mentioned above. It is also sometimes prudent to set up a Trust during your lifetime, for tax, succession and asset protection reasons. Virtually any assets can be held in Trust, including property, cash, insurance policies and investments.
